izing recommendations using an exclusive Low Sweets database. The private database provides access to products, recipes, and kitchen tested pairings. Recommendations are customized to the specific needs of that business/consumer.

I wanted to understand the challenges people face in searching for naturally sweetened snacks and desserts. Products that contain no artificial sweeteners, cheap vegetable oils, palm oil, or no artificial flavors.  Extensive user interviews identified the user’s frustrations, specifically the hours spent on online searches, for healthly snacks, and time consuming reading of all product ingredient labels.

1  Empathise

My primary objective of user research was, for me, to truly understand how individuals currently navigate this world of natural snacks, absolutely no artificial sweeteners/palm oil, canola oil. Sweetened with fruit, vegetable, or other very natural means . 

 

I wanted to uncover the app ussers existing habits while pinpoint their most frustrating pain points, and discover what genuinely excites as well as motivates users when it comes to vetting/buying products.

2  Define

Businesses and individuals often struggle to pair orders with complementary products. Leading to overwhelming choices and therefor decision paralysis. 

 

With the addition of ChatGPT, which is integrated into the mobile app, which delivers app users customized product recommendations pulled from an exclusive Low Sweets data-base. Private acess to this database provides users with products, recipes, and kitchen tested pairings. These reco-mmendations are customized to the specific needs of users – businesses or individuals that purchase products. Tested in Low Sweets own kithchens.

4  Prototype

Designed Low Fidelity Paper Wireframes, then Low Fidelity Digital WIreframes before moving unto the High Fidelity Wireframes using Figma.

 

Used prototypes for usability testing to gather feedback and improve the design iteratively.

5  Test

The final app design received positive feedback from users. Small tweeks were made to the ChatGPT retrieval process. The users reported back more accurate natural food product findings, also easier recipe saving methods.

3  Ideate

Studied the competitors of other truly natural products, websites such as Hu Kitchen, alter eco and Cravers to fully understand, number one,  if they were offering any recipes or pairing suggestions for their products. 

 

One common theme was the genuine mission to “transform the harmful eating habits of past generations and create clean and conscious ones for the generations to come—without compromising on taste”.

 

Applied insights gained from this research to create a unique and distinctive app with a 2ndary focus on the Demand for Companion Products: The strong, consistent demand for a one stop shop, where you could easily order ingredients / complimentary products  from different manufactures while being assured of the high quality of the products, by accessing ChatGPT.

 

I precisely analysed a range of existing recipe applications from Low Sweets and their kitchens. This allowed me to identify current market strengths, weaknesses, and, most importantly, where a significant gap existed that Low Sweets and their own recipe data base can uniquely fill by bringing together their products with guaranteed natural products for their out of the bag snacks and larger uses of their products producing new and experimental products for home cooks/bakers.
